What it's all about

Primary school children go through big changes during their years at school. We understand that years 5 & 6 specifically are crucial for preparing students for secondary school and we want to support you in developing their key personal skills for a life beyond primary.

Delivered in school grounds, Lift Off! is a powerful teambuilding and leadership workshop designed to equip students with the necessary resources to kick-start their year and prepare them for their next major transition.

How we do it

The day will be delivered in an engaging and dynamic style. The key ideas are delivered through exciting presentations, purposeful discussions and challenging practical activities.

Key themes can include:

✓Bouncing back – learning to be resilient

✓Taking ownership of choices, attitudes and behaviours

✓Developing trust in ourselves and others

✓Making myself understood – effective communication skills 

✓Courage zone- finding the courage to do the right thing 

✓The power of perspective and how we choose to ‘see’

✓The power of thought and how we choose to ‘think’ 

✓Active listening 

Ideas and concepts are first shared with the students followed by an opportunity to test these ideas out with outdoor experiential learning based challenges. We use a specific formula which includes a structured progression and lesson plan.

The Outcomes

The themes and activities lend themselves to increasing personal confidence, identifying and overcoming peer pressure, increasing resilience through learning to be uncomfortable and developing trust and respect in ourselves and others. Students will receive a guidebook to take home with them to capture thoughts and experiences of the day. Most importantly the workshop will be engaging, interactive and fun.
